Being a Horse Lawyer is a real job?

I asked myself the same question in the fall of 2019 while having to come up with an idea for a short film in my screenwriting class. I knew I wanted to write a work place comedy, but how could mine stand out? Like most of us I decided to answer that question by heading to google. I searched weird legal practices and there it was, equestrian law. Immediately my mind was flooded with ideas for a story and some very bad horse puns.

Finally after countless drafts and a global pandemic my words came to life, and almost a year after I got to see it on the big screen at the Austin Micro Film Festival. As difficult as those three weeks we had to shoot the film were, every day on set was a dream come true and complete strangers became lifelong friends.

“Death of a Horse Lawyer ,” at its core is a coming of age story that deals with something that every person has to come to terms with at one point or another in their life, choosing ambition or passion. This film is a comedy for everyone to enjoy and is dedicated to conflicted artists everywhere who need the motivation to take a leap of faith.

Nick unpacks his hatred for the holidays with a a bottle of liquor and … Santa Claus? Enjoy this Christmas Comedy Short Film from the creators of the award winning film, “Death of Horse Lawyer”.

Even Santa Likes Creed?

Yes, and cheap vodka. After graduating college and coming off the high of shooting, “Death of a Horse Lawyer,” my team and I decided it was time to get the band back together and shoot another short film, this time an R-rated Christmas Comedy. We shot this film in Harrisonburg, Virginia over the course of a weekend, and had a blast doing it.

On Christmas Eve, Nick comes home after a long day at the office and is interrupted by his neighbor Noelle, who attempts to get the Grinchy young man into the Christmas spirit. Noelle initially fails but little does Nick know that a certain merry stranger is awaiting him in his apartment, with whom he has a secret past. The shocking appearance forces Nick to choose between vengeance and forgiveness in this off the wall holiday comedy.
